SPL are advising a private family trust on their aspirations to provide additional flats at roof level on an existing mansion block in North London. Having received Officer Recommendation, the scheme was refused at Committee due to local resident pressure and SPL are now instructed to pursue the matter to appeal.
SPL coordinated the submission of a planning application for the provision of 12 additional flats at roof level on this existing mansion block in North London close to Haringey Main Line Station. SPL’s involvement included extensive negotiations over the design of the scheme and resolution of issues such as sunlighting and daylighting, refuse and cycle provision and the approach to affordable housing. SPL were successful, in conjunction with affordable housing specialists, in securing the Council’s agreement to a minimal affordable housing contribution. SPL are now instructed to progress the matter to appeal following refusal of consent to the original proposal on design grounds.
