SPL advised the original site owners and were successful in securing planning consent from Ealing Council for a mixed-use development comprising 72 flats and a 102-bedroom hotel to be occupied by Premier Inn. Subsequent to the site’s sale, SPL have been retained by the new site owners, Clearview Homes Limited, and are pursuing proposals for a wholly residential development (149 flats) on the site.
SPL submitted and successfully negotiated a planning application for the mixed-use development on this site with close involvement with Ealing Borough Council over an 18 month period. SPL coordinated the submission of the planning application including all supporting technical reports and were involved on a day-to-day basis with negotiations with the Council, stakeholders and local residents. A controversial application with local residents, SPL advised on how best to counter those objections, including, key strategic political advice to ensure the application was successfully presented to Planning Committee. Having secured consent, SPL are now in active negotiations with Ealing for a wholly residential application including discussions on the appropriate quantum of affordable housing.
