SPL are instructed by Citycourt Developments to progress a full planning application for a new Lidl foodstore (totalling 2,760m² gross) on allocated employment land within Dover District.
SPL undertook an extensive pre-application exercise with the Local Planning Authority. SPL worked closely with the Local Planning Authority in framing the scope of the application submission and duly coordinated the technical team. SPL produced a detailed Retail Impact and Sequential Test Assessment for the site, the conclusions of which were fully endorsed by the Council’s retained retail advisors. The team also successfully argued the economic case for the proposal to justify the site’s release from its longstanding employment land allocation.
SPL submitted a full planning application in the Autumn 2016 and consent is expected by the end of the year.
